Meagan Johnson, Attorney At Law
Meagan Johnson, native of Greenwood, South Carolina, attended Clemson University and studied French and International Trade. She studied abroad twice, both times to the small but charming country of Belgium. Upon completion of her undergraduate degree, she moved to Virginia to study law. During law school she was a member of the Editorial Board of Law Review, Moot Court Board, Vice President of the Student Bar Association, and completed a clerkship with Chief Justice Tom Parker of the Supreme Court of Alabama. Her law review article, Ohio v. Clark: The Supreme Court’s Failure to Confront Key Issues Involving the Application of the Confrontation Clause Framework was also published in 2017.
She graduated cum laude from Liberty University School of Law in 2017 and sat for the Virginia Bar. After practicing law in Virginia for one year, she wanted to return to Greenwood to be closer to family. She clerked for the Honorable Frank R. Addy, Circuit Court Judge in the Eighth Judicial Circuit, for one year and desired to pursue a career in the courtroom. After working at the Public Defender’s office and the Department of Social Services for three years, she accepted the opportunity to go into private practice.
